In the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five navigation and maps applications in Central America exhibited diverse performance trends. This report, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides an overview of their weekly downloads and active users.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 109K in early October and peaking at around 155K in mid-December. However, there was a notable dip to 127K by the last week of December. The app maintained a robust user base with weekly active users fluctuating between 2M and 2.3M throughout the quarter.

Google Maps experienced steady weekly downloads, ranging from 73K to 96K. The highest downloads were observed in late October. On the active users front, the app had a strong presence with weekly active users consistently around 4.8M to 5M, peaking at over 5M in early December.

Google Earth had varied weekly downloads, with a high of 82K in late November and lows around 35K in December. The active user count reflected similar fluctuations, ranging from approximately 260K to 420K, with the highest activity seen in late November.

GPS Satellite Maps: Live Earth demonstrated a stable download pattern, averaging around 20K per week. A notable spike to 32K downloads occurred in the last week of December. Active users showed a steady increase, from around 95K in late September to over 120K by the end of December.

GPS Navigation - Route Planner had a steady download rate with a significant increase from 14K in mid-November to 36K by the end of December. Active users also showed an upward trend, starting at approximately 22K in late September and reaching over 42K by the end of the year.
